“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” – 3 John 2 KJV.
God’s original healthcare plan, found in Genesis 1:29, is 100% plant-based. It’s the most optimal diet for mankind. God, through nature, has provided natural foods and plants to help boost our immune system. Again, His plan is that we all enjoy health on this planet in preparation for the life to come!
In connection with our previous article on the Biblical approach to this C-virus, we discussed a herbal tea blend that can be used as a preventative support in your daily regiment. As many of you asked, we want to address why we chose some of the key ingredients in this protocol.
The Cororonavirus contains the 3 chymotrypsin-like protease (3CL) enzyme. Inhibiting this enzyme is integral in the fight against this virus.
According to BMC Structural Biology, the role of 3CL and why inhibiting this enzymatic function is a valid method for blocking coronavirus replication has even been termed “the Achilles’ heel of coronaviruses” [1] making it an ideal target for the identification of novel lead compounds.
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) and SARS are both from the same family of viruses. It turns out there was a huge wave of research into SARS following that outbreak from a few years ago. Scientists studied numerous botanicals, phytochemicals and food isolates that might show promise in halting SARS.
In the Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry was published in January 2020, the names of flavonoids and phytochemicals that have inhibitory effect against the SARS coronavirus:
– Herbacetin
– Rhiofolin
– Pectolinarin
The flavonoid Herbacetin is found, in abundance, in flaxseed. While we spoke of eating more Flaxseeds in our webinar last Sunday, because of all its benefits, relying on flaxseed alone to combat the nCoV coronavirus, of course, would not be a wise nutritional strategy. Also, the amount of herbacetin in flaxseed is probably not high enough concentration to be very therapeutic in this context unless it were isolated as an extract. So you’d want to invoke many layers of nutritional strategies that provide your body with a wide array of natural molecules which are known to be useful for attacking the 3CL protease pathway.
Another flavonoid studied was Rhiofolin. This is found in nature in citrus peels. While many companies have started making patented formulas using citrus peels, there are other bioflavonoids that also achieve this effect:
Neoeriocitrin, Isonaringin, Naringin, Hesperidin, Neohesperidin, Neodiosmin, Naringenin, Poncirin and Rhiofolin.
Guess where you find most of these compounds? Orange peels! In our tea protocol, we are using the whole orange peels from the fresh orange. While you wouldn’t normally want to gobble down large amounts of orange peels on a daily basis, adding it to your daily regiment nowadays would definitely increase your intake of a vast spectrum of bioflavonoids with various therapeutic properties.
In addition, regular aerobic exercise coupled with a plant-based, whole foods diet are also associated with improved ACE-2 function. Phytochemicals shown to enhance ACE-2 function, such as, curcumin (a set of flavonoids found in the spice turmeric), resveratrol (a polyphenol found in red grapes and other foods), rosmarinic acid (a polyphenol found in spices like rosemary and oregano), Panax notoginseng (the active Panax fractions for strengthening ACE-2 are called saponins), and alpha-lipoic acid (an anti-oxidant). ACE-2 as an enzyme is integral with maintaining respiratory function as well as blood pressure. [2]
We don’t have to be afraid of the coronavirus, especially when we are following the readily available foods and plants God has provided for us!
We are loading up on organic orange peels, elderberry syrup, as well as adding turmeric, garlic, leeks, onions, and flaxseed into our foods each day. These nutrient-rich food sources can be a great help in enhancing our overall health. As always, we are praying that you experience the Restored Life!
